LEMON TREES (Coming EARLY 2022)
About The Collection
I Painted my first lemon tree in September 2021 when framing a piece for an upcoming art event. When the frame didn't fit, I was suddenly inspired to paint something so specifically random, a potted lemon tree.
Within the hour of realizing my original piece could not be framed, I secured the right sized blank canvas to fit the frame and the perfect paints for a cheery lemon tree. I had so much fun selecting the designs of each piece of the painting and implementing the plan. The next day, the framed lemon tree piece sold quickly and seemed to spread joy. I was suddenly drawn to lemon trees because they are so cheerful and endlessly hopeful. When I paint or look at one, my heart is flooded with joyful memories of my kids learning to make lemonade from scratch.
I think some people just enjoy the lemon tree paintings because the lemon trees create a cheerful and fresh statement in their spaces. It is my goal that these trees endlessly spread joy and hope to those surrounding it, offering a never-ending fresh feeling.
I begin painting the lemon trees with a solid idea of the color palette and loose ideas for textures and patterns. This rough plan grounds my ideas, which I must be completely willing to evolve while painting. The videos showcase the process and even highlight some positive changes that have been made to my original plans. The first few lemon trees were made without drawing anything in advance, which often makes creativity flow more naturally for me.
